Subtitle: “How to give a sponge bath, change an ostomy pouch, navigate around a catheter, and change two diapers all while wrestling a squirmy 8-month old baby”
Well, we just did it- we just experienced giving Joshua a sponge bath.  It was quite the adventure.  Joshua’s baths are normally slightly unusual.  We only give him baths when [...]

Today is Michelle and my sixth anniversary. Needless to say we never expected to spend one of our anniverseries in Cincinnati, but we decided to make the most of things. We spent the afternoon with Joshua at the Cincinnati zoo. We had a great time. Here are a couple pictures.

Here’s Joshua watching the swimming birds [...]

I was putting some Baby Oraljel in Joshua’s mouth and felt a tooth on the top gums. (I thought the bottom ones were supposed to come first.) He has been drooling a lot and chewing on anything he could get his hands on. This has also led to additional fussiness and waking up in the [...]

We celebrated the birth of our Savior in a new city this year. We were able to continue a couple of our traditions including having some pink grapefruit courtesy of a fruit basket from the Hales at our home church in NC. Mamaw brought a special gift for Joshua, Michelle, and me as well.

He really didn’t like the process, but he slept through a little over half of it. The tube came out around 7:30pm, and now he’s back to his normal self. The nurses [...]

12-19-08 Update

Praise the Lord for His goodness to His children!!! We met with Joshua’s surgeon, Dr. Levit, today. He told us that all three tests (kidneys, bladder, & spine) all came back negative for defects. He also told us that Joshua’s rectum is lower than it appeared to be in the earlier tests at Duke. He [...]
